My Love Across the Miles (Sonnet)

Sometimes, unknowingly, I cause you pain,  

A careless act, a word I did not see,  

Yet know, my love, in sunshine or in rain,  

You are the one who means the most to me.  

Though distance stretches far from heart to heart,  

From Dhaka’s skies to Kolkata’s embrace,  

Our love, a fate rope that never comes apart,  

Defies the miles with every warm trace.  

My girl, my star, your light keeps me alive,  

A beacon bright through every stormy tide,  

With every beat, our hearts together strive,  

Forever yours, with love I cannot hide.  

Though we may stand apart in time and space,  

My loyalty endures, my love’s your grace.
